The world of science has a long way to go, but the fields of mathematics, engineering and computing are making progress in a major way.
The Women In Science Network is leading the way with a plan to help get more female engineers and scientists into the tech industry.
The group is launching a new project that will launch in the next year or two, focusing on four areas: online learning, mentoring, technical networking, and networking for female entrepreneurs.
The network is also launching a series of webinars and workshops, which will be tailored to different parts of the world.
The women in science network, founded in 2015, is looking to create a “world-class, global network” that will enable the next generation of women to enter the workforce, said co-founder and president Andrea DeCarli.
In the coming years, women will have to do a lot more than just be entrepreneurs, she said.
“I’m not talking about being entrepreneurs, I’m talking about doing something that’s really important to you, that you can’t just do in your spare time,” DeCarle said.
“We’re looking at mentoring.
We’re looking to build a network.
We are looking to bring women into the workforce.
And we are looking at networking for women in the technology space.
That’s what we are going to do.”
The network has a strong history, with a handful of former leaders, including DeCarl.
(The network is still actively recruiting.)
“We have a long history with the network,” De Carli said.
“I remember when I was in the community as a youth, I met with some of the leaders of the women in technology network, and I think the most important thing they shared was that they felt very strongly about the importance of women’s participation in the workforce.”
In 2016, the group announced a “Women in Tech Summit” and launched an “Innovators in Residence Program” for women entrepreneurs.
But the women network is taking things one step further by starting a new, non-profit, with DeCarlo as its CEO.
DeCarli is also encouraging the network to launch a series on “Women In Tech: The Road to Success.”
That program will focus on a different subset of women entrepreneurs, specifically women in engineering.
I think women should be able to be involved in the field, DeCarla said.
But, they also need to be educated, she added.
The goal is to give them the tools to be successful in the industry and the network will be part of that education.
The aim is to help them to be entrepreneurial, to be entrepreneurs in their spare time, to have a network of friends, to network for the network.
And that’s what the Women In Tech network is doing,” she said in an interview with The Globe and Mail.
While the women’s network has been able to get some traction, the organization has been in the early stages of establishing relationships with some major companies. “
It’s really challenging, because it’s a male dominated field, and it’s really hard to reach those women who might be interested,” she added, adding that it’s been difficult for DeCarlla to get a hold of some of her former mentors.
While the women’s network has been able to get some traction, the organization has been in the early stages of establishing relationships with some major companies.
But DeCarlia says it will take a while to see a meaningful impact in the tech world.
“Women don’t have a lot of time, we don’t get to be leaders, and that’s where we’re trying to be,” she explained.
“So we’re still really, really trying to figure out how to do this.
It’s going to take a lot longer than a year to really make it impact, and we’ll see if it actually works.”
The Women In Technology Network has raised $1.7 million in funding from a number of investors, including Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Digital Equipment Corp., Kleiner Perkins, and Digital Currency Group.
The organization is still looking for investors, but DeCarly says it’s “probably” about $2 million.
The women’s networking effort comes as the Canadian government continues to make progress on its pledge to provide a $1-billion grant for STEM education.
DeCarleti says the initiative is also aimed at improving the education of young women in Canada.
De Carle says that the goal is also to help female entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs in STEM, but she says she’s also focused on helping women who have not yet been given the opportunity to build their business.
In addition to DeCarletti, the Women in Science Network includes DeCarlis daughter, Emma, and fellow co-founders Sarah and Jennifer DeCarluis, who are also executive directors.
